Davis scores 34 as Pelicans beat 76ers 121-114

NEW ORLEANS -- Anthony Davis scored 18 of his 34 points in the first quarter and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Philadelphia 76ers 121-114 on Friday night.

Ryan Anderson had 26 points and Jrue Holiday added 24 points and 12 assists for the Pelicans, who never trailed.

Nerlens Noel led the 76ers with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Jhalil Okafor scored 14 points and Canaan had 13. Philadelphia turned the ball over 20 times and lost for the eighth time in 10 games.
