Anthony Davis status among series of positives for Pelicans on health front

SALT LAKE CITY – After leaving Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with a knee injury, there was obvious concern about Anthony Davis’ playing status, but the two-time All-Star power forward isn’t even going to miss a game due to the injury, a right knee contusion. Alvin Gentry said during pregame Saturday that Davis “is fine” and will play tonight against the Utah Jazz (8 p.m. Central, Fox Sports New Orleans, WRNO 99.5 FM).

As it turns out, that was just one of several encouraging pieces of news from Gentry’s meeting with the media. The first-year Pelicans head coach added that since he only logged 13 minutes Friday at the Clippers, point guard Jrue Holiday will be available Saturday in a back-to-back for the first time in 2015-16.
