Anthony Davis is great, and it has become rote at this point. Everyone has seen the historic player efficiency ratings, the picture perfect jump shot and the vicious alley-oop finishes, but something very different drew attention to the Pelicans’ All-Star on Monday.
Per the New Orleans Advocate’s Brett Dawson, Anthony Davis was selected as a finalist for the NBA Cares Award, which recognizes exceptional contributions to the community. Along with Carmelo Anthony, Mike Conley, Andre Drummond, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Zach Lavine, Damian Lillard, Victor Oladipo and John Wall, Anthony Davis is nominated for one of the few awards that recognizes being a pillar in the community above being an exceptional athlete.
