It had been a rough week for New Orleans forward Anthony Davis, with him taking an inadvertent elbow to the head Monday vs. Houston, then having to undergo concussion testing that will prevent him from playing Thursday against Sacramento. There was some good news roughly an hour before tip-off tonight, however, when TNT announced that the 22-year-old will make another All-Star appearance. Davis now has three consecutive All-Star berths, with his first coming in 2013 when the midseason event was hosted by New Orleans. Next month’s game will be played Feb. 14 in Toronto.
“I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t (get picked),” Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry said during his pregame meeting with the media, before the All-Star announcements were unveiled.
