Earlier this afternoon, ESPN released a ranking of the NBA’s top “young cores” based upon the projected WARP those cores would be expected to produce over the next three years. While seeing the New Orleans Pelicans ranked highly on the list is no surprise, as it turns out Anthony Davis is projected to be so good that the Pelicans finished second in the rankings almost completely thanks to his amazing talents.
ESPN chose to define the cores in a very specific way, taking into account the projected WARP of players “likely to be on the roster who won’t yet be 26 by the end of the 2015-16 regular season.
