Friday night was not going well for the New Orleans Pelicans. Thanks to hot shooting from the Los Angeles Clippers, cold shooting from the Pelicans and just a general sluggishness, the Pelicans found themselves down 20 plus to the Clippers late in the third quarter. Then things went from bad to worse as Anthony Davis went down with a leg injury after a collision with Chris Paul and had to be carried off of the court.
The play happened in transition as Davis was running alongside Paul who had the ball. With no obvious easy basket in front of him, Paul made a player that many guards make in the same spot and veered into Davis with the intent to draw a foul.
