The deal includes a player option after year 4, which gives Davis the option to decline the final year and re-enter free agency. Anthony Davis finished yet another ridiculous season for the Pelicans, leading a charge into the NBA Playoffs, the first appearance for the Pelicans since the 2011 NBA Playoffs.
