With the 51st pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans chose Tony Carr, a guard out of Penn State University.
Last season as a sophomore with the Nitty Lions, Carr averaged 19.6 points, 5.0 assists and 4.9 rebounds. Although he only posted a 40.8 FG%, he did shoot 43.3% from three-point range — a marked improvement of his 32.0 3PT% from his freshman campaign. He was selected to the 2017-18 All-Big Ten First Team.
Standing 6’-5’’, with a 6’-8.25’’ wingspan, and weighing 204 pounds, he has solid size for a point guard and is considered an excellent shot creator off the dribble.
