1. Mardi Gras
Similar to Junkanoo, Mardi Gras involves costumes, music, dancing and parades! It’s a time when the whole city comes together to dance in the streets and have a good time.
2. Red Beans and Rice
This Louisiana Creole dish was traditionally made on Mondays when women were busy washing clothes and the pot of beans would simmer on the stove all day long. While this isn’t quite peas and rice, it makes for a tasty and fulfilling meal.
3. Local Music
In New Orleans there is local music just about everywhere you go.
