New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps is widely considered to be on the hot season following New Orleans' disastrous season, but according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune's John Reid, Demps will be back next season:
Since the Pelicans’ ended with a disastrous 30-52 record, there has been speculation that Demps was on the hot seat and the franchise could move in a different direction. But a source said last week that Demps is “definitely coming back” for his seventh season. The Pelicans officials, however, have not said anything publicly regarding Demps’ future.
Demps and his staff have been going through their offseason preparations as if they'll remain with the team, further signaling that they'll be back for another season.
Many around the Pelicans are frustrated after a terrible season, but those in power seem to have chalked it up to the abundance of injuries they suffered this season. In all, they used over 40 different starting lineups this season and had 13 players combine to miss nearly 350 games.
