While Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is currently under contract for the 2015-16 season, the smart money is one Thibodeau moving on from a tenuous working situation with the Bulls' front office.
If Thibodeau does indeed get either traded or granted his release, ESPN's Marc Stein says that the New Orleans Pelicans are one team he's already interested in:
"NBA coaching sources say there is unquestioned mutual interest between Thibodeau and the Pelicans, with Thibs naturally said to be very intrigued by the possibility of coaching Davis full-time after working with him last summer as a Team USA assistant alongside Williams under Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski."
The thought of coaching Anthony Davis as heads towards his prime is one likely draw for Thibodeau. However, he's close with former Pels head coach Monty Williams, so there might be a personal conflict of interest for him to consider.
Stay tuned.
