Gentry’s 2009-10 Phoenix Suns averaged a league-best 110.2 points per game, going 54-28 and making it to the Western Conference Finals in the process. He's also played a huge part in rookie head coach Steve Kerr's success in 2014-15, leading the Warriors to their first NBA Finals berth in 40 years.
He'll replace Monty Williams who was fired by the team just under three weeks ago after five seasons with the team.
Details of Gentry's contract were not made available to the press as of this writing.
