MESA, Ariz. – The Western Athletic Conference championship trophy will return to its rightful place at the NM State Tennis Center in Las Cruces thanks to a dominant 4-0 victory by the New Mexico State men's tennis team against UMKC Sunday afternoon at the Mesa Tennis Center.
The win marked the third conference tournament title for NM State in four years after taking down the Roos – who upset the Aggies last year on their home court in the title match.
"The key and our focus the last two weeks after the loss in Chicago was to first get the doubles point," head coach Carlos Vargas said.
