EL PASO, Texas – New Mexico State track and field completed the UTEP Springtime from Kidd Field. A pair of Aggies took home first place finishes during competition on Saurday.
Yemisi Oroyinyin came away with the gold in the shot put when she threw 14.35m (47-1) on her final attempt. Sam Ponds followed in second when she recorded a mark of 13.01m (42-8.25). Taniya Mitchell (12.92m; 42-4.75) and Bristol O'Connor (11.94m; 39-2.25) placed third and fourth, respectively, while Emily Hernandez (11.38m; 37-4) rounded out the New Mexico State throwers with an eighth place finish.
