Freshman Aidan Thomas dazzled in first collegiate tournament at NM State Golf Course, claiming individual co-champion honors at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate with a six-under-par 207. His performance helped lead the NM State men's golf team to a second-place team finish at even-par 852.
Thomas fired a career-best six-under-par 65 in the third round to rocket up the leaderboard on the final day. He and Wichita State's Dawson Lewis both hit pars on the 18th green to end in a deadlock at six-under-par 207 overall.
The Aggies had seven other competitors finish in the leaderboard's top 25, including three members of their fivesome who placed in the top 10.
