TUSCON, Ariz. – NM State fell to Arizona 1-0 on Sept. 5, in Tucson, Arizona. This was the first loss in a one-goal match. The Aggies are now 4-2-1 with both their losses being to Power Four opponents.
Through 15 minutes of play, the Aggie defense held the Wildcats to just two shots with none on goal. However, the Aggies were unable to record a shot in the same time frame.
In the 19th minute, the Wildcats took the lead on a goal by Marley Chappel. In just four minutes of play, keeper Valerie Guha managed to record three saves on four shots holding the Wildcats to just one goal.
