DENVER – The New Mexico State women's basketball team received a number of All-Western Athletic Conference honors with Brooke Salas winning WAC Defensive Player of the Year and her second-straight Player of the Year honor, the WAC announced Monday.
This is the second season in a row that Salas has won the WAC Player of the Year award while also being named First Team All-WAC. Salas led the league in scoring with 19.2 points per game as the Aggies won their fifth-straight WAC championship. This is the second-consecutive season that she finished first in the WAC in scoring.
