DENVER – New Mexico State senior guard Brooke Salas was named Western Athletic Conference player of the week after posting a pair of 22 point games on 66.7% shooting in Aggie wins last week, the conference announced Monday.

The reigning WAC Player of the Year scored 22 points with six rebounds in a 70-38 win over UT Permian Basin in the season-opener at home. She also dished out two assists and recorded five steals.

Against Western Michigan, Salas dropped 22, all in the second-half, to propel the Aggies to a 66-54 comeback victory on the road.
