Salanoa Named WAC Defensive Player of the Week

DENVER – Julianna Salanoa was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is the second weekly honor for the junior this season and the third of her career.

The Olympia, Wash. native averaged a conference-best 2.33 blocks per set last week. In NM State's lone match, she tallied seven blocks during a sweep of the 2018 regular-season champion UT Rio Grande Valley. Salanoa currently leads the WAC this season with 1.60 blocks per set.
