LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State volleyball team erased a 2-0 deficit and survived an upset bid from California Baptist with a 23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 16-14 victory to push its winning streak to 12 matches and remain undefeated in Western Athletic Conference play on Monday night at the Pan American Center.
After Natalie Mikels opened the match with a service ace for the Aggies, (20-3, 11-0 WAC), it was all Lancers (10-13, 4-6) for the first two sets. With NM States serve-receive and passing struggling, the Lancers were able to steal the first sets, 25-23 and 25-22.
