EDINBURG, Texas – The New Mexico State volleyball team defeated UT Rio Grande Valley 28-26, 14-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-7 on the road Saturday night to move into second place in the Western Athletic Conference Standings.
NM State (15-5, 5-2 WAC) took set one after both teams went back forth for the entirety of the set. UTRGV had a chance to take the set, up 24-22, but a service error followed by an ace from Jordan Pleasants and a kill from Megan Hart gave the Aggies a 25-24 lead. After the Vaqueros tied it at 26, a kill from Hart and an error on UT Rio Grande Valley gave New Mexico State the 28-26 win.
