LAS VEGAS – The New Mexico State men's tennis team defeated UC Riverside Saturday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex 4-0 in a shortened match due to rain that had already cancelled matches that were scheduled for 10 a.m. local time.
With the shortened match, teams went straight to singles action due to weather. Louis Menard was the first Aggie to pick up a win, taking down his counterpart from UCR at the No. 2 slot 6-2, 6-1. Martin Simecek was the next Aggie to finish, taking down his opponent 6-4, 6-1 before Stijn de Haan bested his foe at the top singles position 6-3, 6-4.
