CARACAS, Venezuela – New Mexico State men's basketball alumni Wendall McKines was named the championship MVP and won his first title on the pro circuit over the weekend on May 20 with the Caracas Cocodrilos.
McKines was named MVP after posting a double-double in the seven playoff games for the Cocodrilos. The 6-6 forward's 23.1 points and 10.8 rebounds average guided the Cocodrilos to its sixth Liga Profesional de Baloncesto (LPB) title.
In the championship game, McKines dropped 27 points on 10-of-23 shooting to go with 12 boards and three assists as the Cocodrilos dominated the Bucaneros de La Guaira 86-69.
