LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team joined country music legend Garth Brooks to host his Teammates for Kids Foundation to host a youth camp Saturday morning at Aggie Memorial Stadium.
"It's about respect, it's about courage," Brooks said. "Probably one of these kids will end up playing sports somewhere? All of them will be human beings that'll contribute to this nation and what it believes in. So you betcha. It's what it's all about. Their families are their core and make sure you drive home those kinds of thoughts."
A host NM State football staff members and student-athletes were on hand to participate in the free community event that saw about 60-plus youth from the Las Cruces area.
