NM State Struggles with Slow Starts, Drops Pair on the Road at GCU

Box Score 1 PHOENIX – NM State (10-28, 5-12) fell in a pair of Friday night matchups with Grand Canyon (32-10, 15-2). The Aggies dropped game one, 8-3, before suffering an 11-3 loss in the second game of the day.

The opening game started at a slow pace for both offenses as each side failed to record a hit through two innings. This included a pair of strikeouts from NM State starting pitcher Jordin King in the first inning before putting together a one-two-three inning in the second.

Gabby Aragon was then able to get a base knock in the first at-bat of the third inning, putting an end to Ariel Thompson's 10.
