STEPHENVILLE, Texas – After a scorching offensive weekend against Stephen F. Austin, the NM State offense was brought back to earth by the Tarleton Texans on Friday night. The Texans held the Aggies to just one run on eight hits and Tarleton took the series opener by a score of 7-1.
Tarleton jumped out to a three-run lead in the first inning, powered by three consecutive hits to open the ballgame. It took a minute before got NM State on the scoreboard in the third inning. With a pair of runners in scoring position, Funke's swinging bunt brought in and brought NM State back within two.
