TUCSON, Ariz. – New Mexico State Track and Field put up a strong showing in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Willie Williams Classic, hosted by Arizona. The Aggies won four events, including the 5000m run, 200m Dash, Javelin and Triple Jump.
"Overall, we were very pleased with the performances this weekend, with it being our first outdoor meet," said assistant coach Larry Carmichael. "We are proud to win a few events and have our athletes get some marks up."
In the 5000m, the Aggies finished one-two with Cristina Amberg winning the event with a time of 18:03.
