ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The second game of the season at The Pit in Albuquerque, N.M. was full of emotion as the New Mexico State Aggies dropped the first Battle of I-25 bout with the University of New Mexico Lobos.
NM State was on high alert on defense, forcing 21 turnovers for the second straight game. The finishing touch was just not there, however, as the Aggies only capitalized on six baskets off of those turnovers. The scoring was started and finished by UNM over 40 minutes of play.
The first quarter saw the Lobos go up 12-0 before head coach Mark Trakh called the first timeout of the game.
