SEATTLE – New Mexico State softball concluded its first Western Athletic Conference series against Seattle U at Logan Field on Saturday. The Aggies fell 4-3 in eight innings to the Redhawks in the series finale.
NM State (15-14, 1-2 WAC) and SU (43-12, 4-2 WAC) engaged in another pitcher's batter with starters Kayla Green and Andie Larkins pitching four scoreless innings to start the contest.
In the fifth, Chloe Rivas began a rally for New Mexico State with a single to start the frame. A wild pitch advanced the freshman to second and a sacrifice bunt by Brandy Hernandez allowed Rivas to reach third.
