LAS VEGAS – The NM State softball team used a big fifth inning to take the lead and never looked back as they defeated Southern Utah 13-3 on Friday at Eller Media Stadium in the UNLV Classic.
The Aggies (14-6) scored 13 runs and garnered 11 RBIs on 15 hits. Rachel Rodriguez led the team with three runs and two RBIs on four hits. Kayla Green pitched 3.0 innings and allowed just two hits while holding the Thunderbirds (3-16) scoreless.
Southern Utah scored three runs and had three RBIs on six hits. Cheyenne Cudahy pitched 5.
