LEXINGTON, Ky. – All-America candidate Gwen Murphy has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region team for the Midwest Region, the AVCA announced Tuesday.
"We're really proud of Gwen," said head coach Mike Jordan. "She's had an All-American caliber year and she's earned every award given to her. She's one of the great players to ever wear the Crimson and White."
The AVCA members voted Murphy to the 14-player Midwest region team, which is one of 10 regions that make up the AVCA's Division I membership.
Murphy had a stellar season earning several accolades including being the first Aggie in school history to be named Sport Import/AVCA National Player of the Week.
