TUCSON, Ariz. and DENVER – Junior Daniel Johnson has been named Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week. He has also been named Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, his third time receiving the honor this season.
A native of Vallejo, Calif., Johnson went 12-for-20 on the week with two doubles, four home runs, eight runs scored and 14 RBI. In the series against Sacramento State, he went 10-for-15 at the plate with two two-run home runs and two three-run home runs. He also added two stolen bases for a league-leading 22 stolen bags on the season.
