KANSAS CITY – The New Mexico State women's basketball team fell 56-52 to Kansas City at the Swinney Rec Center in a defensive slugfest on Sunday afternoon. The game had originally been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11, but it was pushed back a day due to inclement weather in the Kansas City area.
The Aggies (5-11, 2-1 WAC) fell behind 10-6 early but a three from Rodrea Echols sparked a run that saw NM State take an 18-12 lead. The Roos (10-8, 3-1) then scored the final four points of the quarter and New Mexico State led 18-16 after one.
