ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Allan Sepkowitz, who as a player helped New Mexico State football’s two bowl victories and went on to a long career as a prep coach in El Paso, died Thursday night, the El Paso Times and KVIA-TV in El Paso reported.
The Times reported he had a long battle with an illness. Details were scarce, other than that he recently underwent brain surgery, according to a Facebook posting from his wife June, and had been in recovery since.
Sepkowitz came from Amarillo to play for the Aggies from 1959-61 in the days of single-platoon football as an offensive and defensive lineman.
