LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Although they were not able to take part in any in-person ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic, another large contingent of individuals joined the ranks of NM State's alumni base during the university's commencement ceremonies Saturday and in that group of newly-minted Aggie alums were 54 Aggie student-athletes.
Receiving an NM State diploma represented the latest step in the academic careers of student-athletes from 15 of NM State's 16 NCAA Division I athletic programs.
Football had the highest number of individuals graduate (17) followed by baseball, soccer, softball and track & field who had four graduates each.
