DALLAS – As the summer rolls on, awards continue to roll in for NM State. On Thursday, Conference USA announced its recipients of the Jim Castañeda Post Graduate Scholarship. Dr. Jim Castañeda served 46 years as an educator, coach and Faculty Athletics Representative at Rice University. "Every season, CUSA grants the $4,000 scholarship to distinguished graduates selected by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Conference USA Board of Directors."
Stutesman graduated from New Mexico State in May with a 3.896 cumulative GPA, earning double majors in Kinesiology and Psychology.
Competing in both cross country and track and field, Stutesman recently made her first appearance at the NCAA West first round, competing in the 10,000m after recording a qualifying time of 34:05.
