LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's golf team completed day one of action at the annual Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate at the NMSU Golf Course on Monday. The Aggies took advantage of home field and had a strong opening two rounds that saw the team register a team score of 288-292—580 (+12), good for first place.
Individual play for NM State was led by Mike McGilton whose second round total was the best 18-hole score of the tournament and his day-one saw a 74-67—141 (-1) put the Aggie in first place among 75 golfers.
