PROVO, Utah – The New Mexico State women's cross country team took on top competition at the NCAA Mountain Regional, hosted by BYU, on Friday. The squad took home 16th in the 6k race from the East Bay Golf Course in Provo, Utah.
"We had a really good team race today. The women did a really good job keeping pace, not getting out too hard, and working their way up through the field. Anytime we're running at elevation, we need to stay patient early in the races and they did a good job of that," assistant coach Joseph Rath said "A few of runners had some PR's, which was nice after some of them didn't feel like they ran their best race at the conference meet.
