LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State's Crissey Amberg and Kayli Farmer advanced for the NCAA 2017 Outdoor Track and Field Championships West Preliminary on Thursday. Amberg will compete in the 1,500m and Farmer will compete in the javelin throw.
Amberg ran a personal best 4:25.37 in the 1,500 meters this season. Her time broke the previous school record. Farmer threw 47.94m (157-3), a new personal record, in the javelin at the Steve Scott Invitational which ranks second in the school record books.
The NCAA 2017 Outdoor Track and Field Championships West Preliminary are being held in Austin, Texas, from May 25-27, at the University of Texas, Austin.
