LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's soccer team defeated Chicago State 2-1 at the Soccer Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon to pick up its first Western Athletic Conference win of the season.
"It was definitely a great first half performance, we had multiple scoring opportunities in the first half," said head coach Rob Baarts. "We created a lot in the second half but I think we took for granted the first half and thought the second half was going to be a lot easier than it was and we made that game much more difficult than we needed to.
