DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference announced its first women's golfer of the week honor for the spring season on Wednesday. After a win at the Mission Hills Invite, NM State golfer Pun Chanachai earned the WAC award.
The one-round tournament saw the junior capture the fifth individual title of her career, tying current LPGA golfer and former Aggie Alena Sharp for the most wins in school history.
Chanachai tied with Idaho's Vicky Tsai for the individual championship and the pair were the only golfers to shoot under-par firing a 71 (-1) at the end of the 18-hole event.
