BOSTON - The best mid-major college basketball player in the nation could very well have sported NM State colors in 2021-22.

In a release issued Monday afternoon, NM State redshirt junior guard Teddy Allen found out he is one of 40 finalists for the 2022 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award.

Presented annually to the top mid-major player in NCAA Division I men's basketball since 2010, the award is named for the late Lou Henson who won 775 games in 41 seasons at NM State and Illinois.
