LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State pulled off a thrilling extra-inning victory on Friday night, defeating Oakland 5-4 in 10 innings at Presley Askew Field. A clutch at-bat from who saw his first action as an Aggie, sealed the walk-off win and improved the Aggies' record to 6-3 on the season.
Two late runs allowed the Golden Grizzlies to pull even, however, timely pitching and late two-out heroics pushed the Aggies over the top. In total, the Aggies finished with nine hits and, despite three errors, forced Oakland to leave 12 runners stranded.
The Aggies struck first in the second inning as back-to-back doubles from and produced a run to grab an early 1-0 lead.
