LAS CRUCES — New Mexico State football added 16 signees on Wednesday to go with eight mid-year transfers. Coach Doug Martin said the program filled needs in key areas.
Yet as is the case in football, the quarterback position will create the buzz. Oh brother, will it.
In this case it will be Southern Mississippi graduate transfer Tyler Matthews, who is expected to be on campus for preseason camp after graduating in May and will be immediately eligible.
Meanwhile, NMSU signed Matthews’ younger sibling — Cameron Matthews out of Trinity Valley School in Crowley, Texas, who passed for over 5,000 yards in high school.
