MESA, Ariz. – The New Mexico State track and field team performed well at the Mesa Classic, hosted by Mesa Community College, on Friday.
"Overall, we are really pleased with our performances in this meet," said assistant coach Larry Carmichael. "We challenged our athletes to step up and improve their season performances this week and move up the conference performances lists, and they came through."
In the Triple Jump, freshman Hannah Smith won the event with a mark of 11.61m (38 ft. 1.25 in.), a new season best.
In the 1500m, sophomore Crissey Amberg won the event with a time of 4:39.
