LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State Aggies hit the courts strong in El Paso, claiming four wins on day one of their final fall tournament, a promising lead-in to the upcoming spring season. The Aggies notched two victories each in singles and doubles play, displaying resilience and teamwork.
In singles, returner Anna Pinaieva showcased her skill, defeating Sam Houston's Christine Jevicky in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Meanwhile, Lisa Zhu delivered an impressive performance against UTEP's Zuzanna Szczepanska, emerging victorious 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 on the Miners' home turf.
Doubles action saw Zhu pair with freshman Montana Parkinson-Lubold for a dominant 6-0 win over Sara Sadadinovic and Nayuma Subba (SHSU).
