LAFAYETTE, La. – Throughout the two days of the Louisiana Classic, NM State struggled to get into a rhythm on the oak tree-lined course. Each round of the tournament saw NM State post a lower score than the previous round with Tuesday's 301 (+17) being the lowest of the bunch. The Aggies finished in twelfth place, sitting ahead of the two-time defending Summit League champions Denver and Louisiana Tech.
On Tuesday, Garrison Smith posted the Aggies' lowest score with an even 71. Between holes five and fifteen, Smith shot three-under with a trio of birdies.
