HOUSTON – The New Mexico State swimming and diving team finished in fourth place at WAC Championships in Houston over the weekend. Northern Arizona won its seventh-straight WAC Championship.
"We battled hard today and unfortunately the scores and end place do not represent the quality of our team and the progress we've made as a program," said head coach Rick Pratt. "It was unfortunate to finish the day with a record-smashing relay being disqualified, but that is a young group of sprinters who will have another shot in the future. We battled injuries and illness all season and I'm proud of the team for the way they handled adversity along the way and especially with the format changes during this meet.
