MIDLAND, Texas – The New Mexico State baseball team squared off against No. 4 Texas Tech on Tuesday night at Security Bank Ballpark. The Aggies grabbed the lead early but could not hang on as the Red Raiders got the win, 6-4.

NM State (23-15, 8-1 WAC) sent right-hander Andy Frakes to the bump to open the contest against Texas Tech (32-8, 8-4 Big 12) freshman Jake McDonald.
Each team threatened to score in the opening inning with Brent Sakurai leading off the game with a double to left field to put himself in scoring position with no outs, but the Red Raiders escaped the inning.
