TOKYO - For three current and former NM State student-athletes and coaches, the quest for Olympic gold has officially begun.
With the opening ceremony for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics officially in the books, a trio of women affiliated with NM State athletics - women's track & field volunteer assistant coach Rachel Dincoff, swimming & diving student-athlete Lina Khiyara and former women's golf student-athlete Alena Sharp - have their sights set on Olympic medals in their respective events in Japan.
For Dincoff (women's discus, competing for the USA) and Khiyra (women's swimming, competing for Morocco), they will have to compete in qualifying rounds for each of their respective events in order to advance to the medal round.
